With 25 + years of management/business training in the food services/retail
environment, Lynn always knew one day she would be a business owner. Convincing her husband Bill to quit
their jobs and head north to Sunset Country to start a business took little effort. Bill, an avid fisherman,
relished the idea of being surrounded by great fishing, a more serene existence, where he could do what he
loved to do and work on projects that appealed to him.
2007 brought Lynn and Bill to purchase, Whiskey Harbour Chicken, a seasonal summer
restaurant in Pike Bay, Ontario. An addition was put on as a residence and with much hard work, blood sweat and
tears from Bill, Lynns dad Charlie, and Lynn; The Cedar Bough Diner was born. Serving homemade food in a
warm country atmosphere near the shores of Lake Huron brought in visitors from all over the Bruce, and beyond.

Being located in a tourist area on the Bruce Peninsula saw busy summers with
quieter winters. With extra time on her hands Lynn started canning some of her soups and other sauces. Customers
were always asking Lynn if they could buy the sauces, soups, and jams she used in the diner and the Cedar Bough
Canning Co. was born.

Bill too found he had spare time in the winter and started creating unique custom
made birdhouses. His creative streak then saw him making his own brand of furniture too. VIN+ Country Woods
Sales is now going full steam.

Now 3 years later, the diner is scaled down to a couple of tables where a
bowl of homemade soup & a fresh sandwich await. The rest of the diner has been converted to a retail showroom for
the 100+ variety of Lynn’s delicious homemade preserves and Bill’s unique custom wood products.
